Hi,
My mate has had her bike nicked. She was pretty miffed!
She has had proper trouble getting a new one (news flash!). As in, walked into the local specalized concept store and they had 5 bikes on display. Last time I was in there, pre covid, there must have been well over 100 bikes on the shop floors.
Any way she's looking at a full suss trail bike, under £2000, in large or xl (she's 6") trail bike in stock.
She tried a mates 2019 xl norco fluid, with 140/120mm today and loved it. So something like that.
I've pointed her towards some of the bikes on the classified here, she's joined and is waiting to get registered, and a few on chain reaction.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers
Martin
Have a look on Pinkbike.
You can filter down to size and even model to give you an idea as to what's out there, still some used bargains to be had
CRC/Wiggle outlet often put ex-demo stuff on their ebay site http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/tri-sport_resort/
Read the descriptions though, sometimes they require a bit of fixing
Well this is one of the best options at that price:
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vitus-escarpe-29-cr-mountain-bike-2021/rp-prod195276
But it's out of stock, you say.
However...

Might just be worth keeping an eye on CRC and Wiggle and being ready to buy instantly.
Or this is available now and is well regarded:

I'd also say Pinkbike or ebay.
You'll get a far better bike for your money, getting a nearly new.
I'll have a XL Bronson CC up for sale soon! [/stealth ad]

Generally, but only if you can convince the owner it's not worth 90% of what they paid for it.
Though that Vitus Escarpe is a possible exception as well, maybe as good or better than a lot of bigger-name brands.
the wiggle ebay shop has a few listings that would work ok
Sigma sports have orbea Occam's in stock XL (large due in)
Martin at Roots Cycles has both Marin and Trek in that size in stock.
Watching with interest...
Thanks for the suggestions!
I'll point her in those directions.
The coming into stock info looks very interesting!
