I am in East Devon and looking to have my first bike fit for a road bike.

I have had the Bike Shed in Exeter recommended and would be looking at their £100 service which is a non computerised 2d service.

Have also seen good things written about Ride in Plymouth that offer a longer service for £140 but its a bit more money and a bit more of a trek.

Any specific recommendation or feed back from the difference between a basic personal fitting and a computerised fitting.

I took my mtb to Paul at Ride in Plymouth. He spent ages with me ironing out issues with my pedal stroke and cleats which tbh was probably more useful than the bike fit (how much is there you can adjust on a mtb after all?). It really helped me with the knee issues I was having.

We had a communication issue before we met and it turned out that his turbo won't accept through axles (QR only). We had to do the stroke/cadence analysis on his bike and the actual bike fit was done by riding around the car park and measuring etc! But I still found the whole thing immensely useful (and he discounted the cost to make up for it)

Can't recommend it enough despite the issues - my knees are 100x better now and that is not just due to fine tuning the saddle height. The stroke analysis was the best bit.

Mate just had a fit a "retul" fit at bike science in Bristol. He drove up from devon for it. No idea of cost but he's a very serious and nerdy roadie and he was ver impressed

My local shop in Bideford is apparently pretty good at all that bike fit stuff:

Lovely people and with bags of experience.

Why do you think you need a bike fit?

I don't have any specific pains but could be comfier, I haven't heard anybody say they had a bike fit and it didn't improve anything.
