I bought a set of Time Xpro road pedals from Bike-Discount. There's a problem with them and Time have said I should return them under warranty. However, Bike-Discount won't respond to any emails. Has anyone else had issues with Bike-Discount and did you manage to resolve them?
Thanks
They can be a bit slow, but have always responded to my emails.
There should be a return an item option in your account when you login.
Bike-Discount won’t respond to any emails.
How long for?
Usually had a response within 48hr during the week in the past.
As above, log in, go to my account, and it takes you through the steps of printing a return label
it took a while - 4 weeks (a lot of that was waiting for shimano to check em out) but i've just had my xtr trail pedals replaced due to a dust seal popping out by bikediscount
Used the online return form to get a returns label
Quite happy as i still had my old pedals to use wheel waiting for the replacements
Thanks - it's been 15 days and no response so far
I've found returns from Bike-Discount and Bike24 to be excellent, but agree that getting an initial response can sometimes be slow.
Send a blank email rather than replying to any previous email is my first suggestion, I've replied to the order confirmation emails when requesting a returns form and they were ignored, but as soon as I sent a new email requesting a returns form they replied instantly.
Interesting, not Bike Discount but I'm having problems with BIKE24. I’ve not received a crank from them (sent out on the 5th) and they or DHL haven't responded to any of my emails.
If you’ve emailed I’d assume it was spammed or similar. Pick up the phone or contact them another way, they won’t be ignoring you. I’ve had a couple of things need warranty with them having ordered loads of stuff and they’ve always been super helpful.
Ok - I’ll call them tomorrow and report back.
Thanks all
They were superb with me when their delivery company and I didn't quite get it together and the shorts that I'd ordered ended up in Germany again. Bike-Discount.de got on top of it quickly after an explanatory email and they didn't even charge me for a second delivery.
I believe the term is 'chapeau'.
My orders have been quick.
The one warranty job I had I used the online thing, printed the return label, dropped it at the Hermes shop 100 paces down the road. I'd been refunded within the same hour that Hermes tracker showed it had been received.
tbf the oil that was sposed to be inside the dropper was mostly outside, so it was in no way contestable, but I assumed they'd confirm by email or something and ask if I wanted replacement or refund.
all very quick. can't complain. got a replacement a few € cheaper elsewhere.
Yep as above they have an automated system to print the returns form and label etc so I think they rely on that system and are not great at checking emails about returns. but once you have their attention they should see you right.
It took over two weeks for them to respond to our Radon warranty claim.
When they replied I had already sorted a fix via LBS, to be fair they offered to refund the costs and the reply was good.
For what it's worth, on two occasions I've simply ordered the wrong thing, so fully expected my refund to be less the original cost of postage, but in both instances they've refunded the original postage as well!
That includes a black anodised chainring with slight marking in the bolt holes from where I fitted it to a chainset (inexpertly masked with black Sharpie...).
Had to wait a while for initial response to my claim on a Sunrace derailleur, but then I've been busy so only just sent them the email pictures they asked for. Will hopefully get resolved quickly.
Yes they are slow and yes struggle to compose emails or chat in any other language than their own.
Weird as if you cannot speak English then why sell to us lot.
Had a problem with a cube frame. It took less time to return it for full refund via their autoreturn option than for them to respond to email. Just send it back.
What was up with the Xpro pedals?
I switched to the Xpro 10s from ATAC Carbon XS ~2 months ago and I think they are the latest reason/excuse this year to not go chasing my PBs from last year up cat4 hills, been having trouble with my knees... Outer and just above left one (IT band?) from ~2 weeks ago became really sore, inner and just above right knee on yesterday's moderate power hilly ~66 miler became a bit tender towards the end.
Of course, the pedal switch and bad cleat position for my bow legs could be a red herring, maybe suddenly my body is starting to crumble in my mid-40s. 😮

To be fair I work with a lot of British nationals who struggle to string a coherent sentence together, let alone put it in writing.

I wonder what the response to non-English inquiries is from Wiggle et al.?
FWIW I recently bought from bike-components.de and their English put my tiny grasp of German to shame
Good point re: wiggle dang doodle! 😉

If you can't speak German, why buy from a German shop?

Yeah, I've used them for years, and delivery/service/price all excellent, and they have resolved every minor problem quickly and without hassle. Free return labels too, on the rare occasion I've needed them.
I’ve never really had a problem and my first KS Lev went back to them 4 times under warranty; it took a few weeks each time but the delay was KD and not Bike Discount. Their English was great and the only issue I had with them was small part missing from the clamp when it was returned - they asked me if I could “take a picture of the missing part please”.
By way of update I did speak to them yesterday and they've told me to return the pedals using their free return service.
And yet there's the odd thread that gets posted in shock horror that another lbs is closing it's doors on our shores .

I used to be a cheerleader of the LBS as well, but online stores (and the German ones in particular) have an unbelievable range of kit that no LBS could ever carry, like obsolete 64mm 4-bolt oval 25tooth chainrings (my last Bike24 purchase).
@ hgeorge- true which is why I do not bother anymore.
