He's 13 and rides swinley, black mountains etc. He has a hardtail and singlespeed already and looking to get a full suss.
He's stuck between....

Lapierre Raid FX+

or

Norco Fluid 7.2

Looking like similar bikes but interested in what the rear shock on the lapierre is like and your thoughts in general.
He'll be along soon once his account is activated.

Norco gets my vote for being a bit better spec. Don't know anything about the rear shock on the Lapeirre, looks own branded?

Both look good for the money though.

The own brand shock is my worry. He is set on one of those two but that Marin does look good. Needs to be from Evans though as he has a voucher to spend.

It does look very good, I agree! Also, have a look at a Giant Trance. One of the best suspension platforms out there, and always excellent value for money.

Now pondering the Fuji reveal 1.1.

Thing is.. we've enough parts and other bikes to swap out most components if needed but not having a full suss myself (I'm a stuck in his ways 90's man riding hard tails and rigids) I've no idea about rear shocks and full suss frames.
