My better half has banned me from putting bikes in the car because she says it makes the car filthy, unlike her piles of tissues, sweet papers and anything else she chooses to throw on the floor.Any suggestions for a reasonably durable bag which will close over the bike? I was hoping to avoid buying a proper bike bag as its just for car use, it wont be flying anywhere. I have tried various plastic sheeting etc but they seem to leak crap. I even tried one of those builders sand bags but it was too bulky.Don't mind taking wheels out.Suggestions appreciated.
The Cinelli bike bag from CRC is reasonable-not bullet proof but good enough to keep the muck off the car. Wheels have to come out but the bag has internal pockets for them
I bought a cheap bag a few years ago (it's in the loft i think) from Planet X - maybe around £20 or so at the time. It's a 'half bag' that encloses the rear wheel and drivetrain where most of the muck is anyway. Assuming you take the front wheel off to put it in the car then the front wheel just sits on top of the bag and only the forks are exposed. May be worth seeing if they still do them?

Out of stock at moment but (apparantly) new stock due in soon...
I use a Pinnacle Bike Bag for transporting bikes (we have 2 bags) in the back of a C-Max.

Useful for putting a muddy bike + separate wheelbags for dirty wheels.
Highly recommended solution to avoid a muddy car..
