A month or so ago bigyim asked if anyone wanted a 'cheapish bike repaint'.

I put my hand up and thankfully live 15 mins from him.

I thought you all might like to see the results.

Cervelo S3 started out as a standard 2017 grey/red. It was a warranty replacement from Cervelo for my older S3 which was predominantly red. As the photos now show, I LIKE red and not grey so was happy for an opportunity to get the bike repainted and it had suffered a fair bit too at the hands of local chipseal roads.

Observations:
1) Richard (Bigyim) is a lovely guy and an excellent painter.
2) I married well - my wife thinks we should hang it on the wall!!
3) I still have no idea how to make insta pictures turn up in my posts. If someone could help I'd be grateful!

bikey

That looks very smart!

I messaged him the other day about painting fork lowers in Jan for a custom fork project I want to do.

The hardest part will be deciding on a colour 🙂

He is a legend and the paintjob is superb! We had loads of discussions and back/forth chats about the design itself and it isn't what I had thought of at first. It is however way better!!

He's done a few jobs for me now - a pair of Fox 36 lowers, a kids bike and I have a Kona Kilauea with him now. Could not be more pleased with the work he's done so far!

Hopefully there will be more jobs I can post up in 2021 (fingers crossed including mine)

I’ve made an email account if anyone wants anything doing as It will make stuff easier to find so if anyone wants me I’m on

Schmiken yours should be painted tomorrow fingers crossed and riklegges will hopefully be ready to be picked up from the strippers.

Nifty paint work aside, how do you adjust your saddle height?

Qwerty - seatpost slides up and down with a hidden retainer expanding thingy in the top tube.

Only problem with the whole paintjob is that I am slightly scared to ride the bike now... I'll weep when it gets the inevitable scratch or chip...

That’s amazing. Really nice - CAR is my favourite guitar colour, never seen it on a bike.

Can't you put some protection on? Like the stuff for MTB. Even some good bike tape from Ebay won't add that much weight 🙂 .

I've got a customer with an old 575 who is considering a colour matched frame and fork that you could probably practice on...

Uggski - I have done some careful helitape but the little stones will know to avoid those areas!

Once the first scratch happens I'll relax 😂

My escapade has been done too!

I still can't seem to post pics on this forum...

Let's see if this works.
