Hi all looking at building up a hT frame - 45650b but would like (potentially a 650b+) a big back tyre in there, whats the clearance like\biggest tyre?
Get your tape measure out, then take away the clearance, me I'd want 10mm either side for mud not grinding the frame down, plus you have to remember as the tyre gets wider the circumference gets bigger.
It'll depend on the rim as well. 2.6 is probably the biggest you'll get in and even then it's going to be dependent on rim and tyre. I couldn't squeeze a 26x2.8 in mine comfortably.
i can't as don't have a frame!
Akira - i suppose thats a trad 456 not 45650b?
Nope 45650b, bought frame as snapped 26" bike so just swapped stuff over.
I couldn’t squeeze a 26×2.8 in mine comfortably.
Also what size would i need at a smidge over 6ft 1, 33" inside leg
No help there, I'm a short arse.
Id go 20" at 6ft1
If youve not ridden one before... Its a pretty heavy frame.
