As above really, I guess something cheap and SS would ideal. Surely something somewhere is being sold off cheap in end-of-line XL. Don't really know the 29er market.

Or recommendations what to look for welcome, advice to stay clear of the way of the devil etc... 😉

I've got the hx1 and it really is amazing value at £299, I think the Large is a 21" seat tube...

Some reviews on here somewhere if you search, can't fault my 26" wheeled version it's a great ride...

Hmm, think if I was building one up I'd go more XC and less AM than that.

I can do you one of the early series Singular Swift SS frames in XL (no downtube cable guides, though it does have a derailleur hanger) for a good price. Drop me a line if you are interested.

Oddly enough I have a swift as well and if Sam can offer you one within your budget then it's a no brainer...

The swift is the best bike ever...

You people aren't gonna be helping my resolve when Sam gets back to me on whether he's tracked one down or not 😉

Time to go price up some bits I think...

Hmm maybe, bit spendy tho by the time I've added a fork, getting on the price of a new Swift... again better bike than I was looking at really. I'll need to get around to pricing up some bits so I can budget things properly.

I understand. I tried a Swift prior to getting the Tomac and prefered the Tomac for me fwiw.

Interesting, what did you prefer about it? Seems a bit more racy/lightweight?

I found the Swift a bit too flexy, felt a little like the front and rear were wobbling independently. I am pretty tall and heavy though so a fairly specific case. I also prefer the Bushnell EBB to the one with grub screws like in the Swift.

30.9mm seat tube also helped as it meant I could fit my Reverb

Ah cool, I'm tall, but only ~85kg so not that heavy.
