I too am very impressed with their service- sent my Mallet Cs back due to the spring fouling the body and they built me a new pair FOC, couldn't ask for better service really

some time ago they sent out a pile of free gifts to various people on this forum. Can't remember the reaon, even though I got some socks and energy bars. I think it was for pointing out small shops with good serivce after a series of people whinging. Nice gesture, bookmarked them since but bought very little.

I got these...pair of socks and some energy boosting sweets. 2Pure are very good. I feel bad really as I tend not to recommend CB stuff as all of the CB stuff I've bought has not exactly proved reliable.

I'm surprised that Crank Brothers are still in business considering the amount of shoddy products they sell.

That tends to suggest that they sell barrel-loads and you only get to hear about the failures. I'm mean, how many times does someone start a post along the lines of "My xxx pedals are still working fine"?

Everyone I know who rides has pedals.

Only 3 of these people have CB pedals AFAIK.

2 of them have fallen apart in under 6 months (Mallets and 5050). Most people get at least a year out of pedals, especially when they are so expensive!

I never mentioned pedals, but seeing as you've mentioned it, they probably do sell barrel loads, and yes, barrel loads of them go wrong. Its fairly common knowledge that Crank Brothers pedals are crap quality, you can't deny that. I guarantee that there are more riders using Shimano pedals out there, but how often do you see threads winging about shimano pedals going wrong?

I started that thread and nothing was sent to me 🙁

Crank Bros pedals aren't crap they just require a bit more looking after than they maybe should. I had a pair of Titanium eggbeaters I bought off ebay secondhand. Once back to 2pure as I smacked them off a rock and unhooked the spring. Fixed FOC and bearings replaced. Replaced the bearings again once myself.

So three years after I bought them off ebay I think the springs have gone again. Send them back to 2pure expecting it to cost a bit, their response: "The pedal bodies have worn out through normal wear and tear" (3 years+ fair enough). They replaced them with new ones to 'get me back on the road'. Well impressed.

Be interested how the new design eggbeaters stand up (zero maintenance, 3 year warranty I think).

Stu.
