Something not too thin, soft and squidgy and black.
What would you recommend?

Funnily enough I've just been looking at those but was unsure what the difference with the race day compound is?

I just got some of the Burgtec Minaars, only one ride so far but really like them. The ribbed lines on top give them a nice squish and firmer underneath. I got the purple ones but have no taste, black also available.

another vote for the Deathgrips - excellent grips and lots of squish without the loss of control......

Race Face have stopped making Good’n’Evil, they are my favourites. You can get them in white still but they'll end up looking manky after a while.

Big squidgy grips are great for people with big hands, i suffer when using thin grips

Odi longnecks… Been using for years

Been running odi long necks on the bmx for 20+ years, keep meaning to try the lock on version on the mtb, are they any thinner than the normal ones due to the lock on tube?

I like ESI Chunky. Comfy for me. There's also an Extra Chunky version, maybe better if you have big hands

The lock ons aren't quite as comfy but there's not much in it really

ESI chunky, the only issues I've had is they tend to get torn to shreds if you do uplift riding. If not then they're perfect.

Wolf Tooth Fat Paw are exactly the same as ESI extra chunky but even fatter.

Well in the end I decided to go for the Deathgrips.
Loads of places had sold out of the thick black ones so they must be popular.
Thanks for the input everyone.
