That's given me an idea, what if you were to used the same idea for locking up your bike in the garage. Thief comes along, laughs at your flimsy bit of chain, gets out bolt croppers and their last sight on earth is a levitating bike just before their skull is caved in by the counter weight.

So, if you get off at the top (looks as though he forgot to build a gate/access point there), the bike then stays there I presume, as the counter-weight is on the ground. How does the next person get up?
(Absolutely love the ingenuity here, and would love to be building something like this, just trying to think through how it all works)
