Do you:
A. Like riding a bicycle and enjoy self too much to mince about wondering who is watching?
Or
B. Enjoy mincing about wondering who is watching, including when on a bicycle?
Bonus Q - are your purchases influenced by A or B?
I'm strictly A A. No mincing. If it's shiny all the better, but only because *I* like polishing shine and seeing the sun on it when riding. Not for some peer-influenced poncense! Gottit!?
A.
And for the bonus, I don't ride a carbon Santa Cruz and my kit is not colour co-ordinated. So A again. (but I do like my bike to look nice for my own benefit)
No idea what you are on about. I just ride me bike.
AA
my bikes have really ugly features like mudguards with milkbottle extension flaps and too-long steerers with old tennis balls covering the sticky-uppy bits
it does slightly amuse me that they're so fugly - could that be a B ?
If you start a thread about it, then you are 100% B.

Lol, and that's science folks.
It was actually the 'saddlebag' thread that set me thinking...and then the more I thought the more it dawned on me that PONCE ABOUNDS THESE DAYS!

Isn't that rotor on back to front?

That's the correct way. Let's see some photos of yours....
Don't have saw tooth rotors.
Just looked odd, apologies.
Fact: (almost) nobody looks good on a bike.
Fact: If you're quick enough the bike doesn't matter(*)
Fact: (almost) nobody cares what you ride or wear(*)
(*) Unless you're in an old school roadie club
My bikes are functional and I care more about how they ride than how they look
Isn't that rotor on back to front?
Superstar Saw rotors mount facing that way, the opposite to Hope
I ride a unicycle. I don't think anybody notices what the unicycle looks like.

Along with starting a thread about it telling up that you think it's better that you don't ride something moves you into the B camp.
I don't care but as I had the chance to build a bike from the frame up from now stuff I did take some time to match stuff up.
Most things that work alright, look alright.
It is therefore perfectly easy to have a bike and gear that (1) works really well* and (2) looks good**.
* YMMV
** IMHO
😀
