I'm camping near Bulkeley (Cheshire) this weekend. Is there much riding on Bickerton, Rawhead, Bulkeley and Peckforton Hills?   Nothing on trail forks. Any cheeky trails?

That's the Sandstone ridge, there's a long(ish) distance footpath called the Sandstone Trail that runs from Frosham to Whitchurch.  I've ridden it and that stretch is the best bit, it is definitely footpath though so genuine cheeky and it'll be busy on a nice weekend.  Outside that, you're probably correct, it's very flat off the ridge. More gravel bike terrain.

Some good riding, mostly cheeky from what I remember. It was my local riding spot in the late 80s and it was still fun to ride on a return trip about 15 years ago with decent brakes and a suspension fork. Not much help I realise .. could map out some stuff if you DM and use ridewithgps

You really shouldn't ride on the Sandstone Trail - thats just going to pi$$ off the locals and I def don't want yet more folk round here pi$$ed off with cyclists!.....

If you were able to take the bike in the car a short distance, you've got some great riding around the Whitegate Way (old railway trail) out to Primrose Woods and on to Delamere - you're about 15 mins from Bicketron to Primrose Woods - happy to share some routes if you dm me your email - I'd show you round but I'll be out on the road at the weeknd trying to train for LEJOG in Sept!!!

There aren’t really anything other than footpaths round here so nothing you’re technically allowed to ride on. It will probably be busy and full of dog walkers too. I’d drive 20 mins ish out to Delamere if you want a cycling fix
