Hi all, I'm looking to get some new bib shorts and am looking at Galibier as I have a couple of their tops and think that they are good value. However on the Galibier sizing charts I seem to come up between a medium and large, which is a little annoying.

I do have a pair of Casstelli bibs that are a great fit in a size large, but I'm sure I've read that they come up on the small side for any given size, but I don't know how they compare to Galibiers sizing.

I have contacted Galibier and they reckon a large for tops and bottoms, but I have two tops of theirs both in a medium that fit really well, I prefer a "race fit" rather than a more relaxed fit, so to be honest that hasn't really helped.

Anyone own or worn both and care to offer a comparison?

Thanks.

Im a large in Galibier but an XL in Castelli

Can i ask why you are choosing Galibier bibs over Castelli which you currently have?

Do you not like them? is there an issue with themor just fancy a change?

My Galibier kit is just for winter use, all other times i use Castelli or Sportful (owned by the same company), ive found my Castelli and Sportful kit to be very robust yet light, yet the Galibier kit has been a bit heavier and not as robust (certain items have been returned mutiple times for repairs)

I may have just been lucky with Castelli & Sportful and unlucky with Galibier

My Castelli shorts are really comfy, but it does come with a price tag. I already own a couple of Galibier items and am of the opinion that the quality is top notch so I thought I'd give the bib shorts a try, and save a little money in the process.

No problem, Yes Castelli does have a premuim price hence why i buy my Castelli/Sportful spring/summer/autumn kit in winter when they reduce last season 's gear, i did buy 1k worth of Castelli in the great Wigle fire sale for £300 so im good for a few years

Think i must of just been very unlucky with Galibier but after having to return one item 3 times and another twice for repairs within 3 months of ownership has made me wary of buying anymore

+1 on "Castelli comes up small, size up". But again": my Castelli bibs are super-comfortable. Good cut, good pad.

Castelli definitely come up small, I need a large in their bibs and a medium in most other brands I've used. I only have Galibier jerseys and they too are a touch smaller than other brands. Probably true to size if you're looking for a race fit.

I recently bought some Castelli bibshorts and some Galibier 3/4 bibs, both in medium. Both fit well.

I'm large in most things, but a tight fit XL or fine fit in XXL in Castelli.

Good stuff but I'd size up to XXL if I bought any more of their gear.

I'm large in gabaltier gilet and gloves, not tried their shorts
