New BHF ride this year being held on 1st September

Details on the websit variously describe the route as being 35 or 40 miles long, which seems a bit short. Anyone have any idea what the route will be?

Probably bridlepaths or disused railway like the Brighton one, technically off-road but not technical off-road. I could be wrong though.

Yes, will be bridleways I'd imagine, no handy 'disused railway' between London & Southend.

Dare say some Sustrans stuff will be used, just wondering if anybody has any specific info on this

As long as it isn't the cycle path on the side of the A127

Maybe it goes via Hadleigh Farm 😉

Doesn't seem to make it to Southend!

Finishing at Hadleigh would be ace though...

Pootle, pootle, pootle, pootle...aargh!

Over 600 at this event. Did anyone on here go?

Accidentally diverted off the official route after missing a sign and found a short cut into Hadleigh. (~2 miles) Feel as though I was a bit of a cheat. 😳

Anyhow, finished in 2:48h then cycled home on my Uncle John Cx bike. Didn't see another cyclocross bike. 😕

Enjoyed the Langdon Hills climb and the descent into Hadleigh most. Failed miserably on the final ramp up past the castle.
