It's 2 weeks to go round here (Gloucestershire) and everyone's out. Several thorns today on the CX which has reminded me to tubeless my set up(vittoria XG pro tnt).

Rode up the Lancaster canal last week and at the end of the ride i counted over 20 thorns front and rear in my tyres. Good job i was tubeless or would have been in the crap 60 miles from home with 1 spare tube!

A good hedge-cutter person will always run the flail in reverse, thereby ensuring the cuttings go back into the hedge rather than the path or road.

Or at least, that's what the chap does round here and he does all of them for a 9000 acre farm estate.

It's a shame more don't follow his way really

We've been enduring Puncturefest every Wednesday night since Christmas here around Derby. Pretty much the same time my mate gave up on tubeless 🙄

Today's ride's made me decide to go tubeless - I got away with it, but the Mrs had 5 in her front tyre . Ran out of patches in the end & I had to ride home & go back to pick her up 🙄

My cx bike has not been tubeless(unlike mtb) before, and thats the one that gets ridden in the most thorny parts. Ordered some vittoria tubeless cx tyres and Ive got some stans rim strips in the spares.

Report debris to your local parish council or council. It is an offence to leave it on the road, but without reporting poor practice will continue and many more cyclists than necessary will get punctures.

Road names or GPS coordinates help enforcement. Farmers and contractors who know they are going to be reported are likely to work in a more reasonable fashion.

Thats interesting, never crossed my mind. There has been some shocking cutting with completely littered lanes round this way.

Does that apply to bridleways and BOATS as well, or just for keeping roads clear?

Any pointers to the law on this to quote at people?

My anger on the subject is unconnected to tonights punctured commute home. Honest.
