Hi all,

I'm 6ft2.

2018 - I had a 2015 Large carbon Scott scale and raced that for two years before Covid. Did rode a lot of miles over the two years won a few races and never had any wrist pain.

End of 2019 - I found a XLarge Scott spark secondhand built it up and have never really gelled with it as it was always a bit clumsy but I kept persevering with it.

I haven't really raced / ridden a lot as I spent a lot of time travelling for work but I'm just getting back into riding and looking to start racing again. Last summer I was riding the XLarge spark but kept getting pain in my left wrist.

I borrowed my mates 2024 Large  today to try it and it fits me really really well but I'm still getting a bit of pain in my left wrist.

I'm thinking of buying a large but I need to sort this wrist issue but I've no idea where to start.

Thanks in advance

I'm the same height and would suggest playing around with the stem first, try raising the stem slightly. You could also try a shorter stem.

No, just a suggestion. I have similar on a hardtail a while back and small tweeks might do it.

Maybe worth looking at the backsweep of the bars?

I just replaced by bars with one's with 10 degree backsweep, seems comfier to me.

I've also got a hardtail with very similar geometry in a large.

Going to order the large and do some tweeks with that size as my mates was just about right with some minor changes.

The XL seemed to be a bit cumbersome

I had some hand pain recently. Raising the bars helped.

So +1 for trying a shorter stem

When I was last suffering wrist pain  getting back into riding more I’m fairly sure it was being caused by poor core strength putting the heels of my hands too low on the grips. Tried a pair of ergon GA3 grips with a small wing bit to force me to position my hands better and it seemed to sort out all my issues.
Might be worth a try before going as far as swapping out a frame
