Hi. I've just taken delivery of one of these Beto air tanks: https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Beto-CJA001S-Tubeless-Air-Tank-Inflator_118340.htm?sku=451481&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8rT8BRCbARIsALWiOvTUh8rXf6qzHFzdJIFSMazKg6LSMONcfP1cpJCLrw1ByNAbVpaAWW0aArdKEALw_wcB

I've noticed that when charging it with a track pump, it leaks air from the the valve head (at the tyre valve end). If you stop pumping/charging, the tank steadily loses air. Interested to hear if other owners experience the same in use, or is it faulty?

Doesn't seem normal as this means you'd have to move pretty smartish to discharge the tank after filling with air in order to make sure you gave the tyre a full charge. Hard to get it to 140-160 psi anyway. Shame if bust as seems really well put together...

Sounds faulty. Mine holds air seemingly forever. Quite a shock when you forget it's charged and catch the release valve when moving it.

Thanks for the replies. Its going back as faulty then, and annoyingly they seem to be out of stock now. Worth getting a replacement?

If you like it apart from the faulty head, and there are no more available I'd be asking if they could send you a replacement for that. They're fairly interchangeable.

Have you checked nothing is obviously loose in the head. Might just be a case of tightening it. Is it the head to hose or head to valve that leaks?

Mine also does not do this.

Mine's been fine. Does it hold air if the track pump head's removed; perhaps there's some sort of mismatch there? The valve on the Beto is tucked away within the mouldings for the handle, with Topeak style dual headed pumps I found it quite difficult to get a decent engagement (no issues with Smarthead type pumps).

I haven't looked, but does the schrader valve have a replaceable core? Might be worth trying a new one if it is.

If you can’t get one in stock then an airshot works well too.

Not sure of the cost difference but I had a charger tank/pump combo from CRC (Airwave branded) go faulty after 18 months and they refunded me as it had a 2 year warranty. They had discontinued the item so I bought an airshot and a separate Lezyne track pump and it’s been faultless to date.

Fairly easily to get it to 160 psi and it’s not failed to seat any tyre so far - generally without having to resort to washing up liquid either.

Beto was returned and replaced with a Birzman tank inflator. Used several times now and works really well. Was dubious as it has a screw head at the valve end, and can't be used without the removeable core in place, so wondered whether it would unscrew the core when disconnecting, but zero issues so far.

Got it for £35 (discounted) from Tredz, so reasonably priced too...
