I use Bonty Mud x all year round, great tires, plenty of grip in all conditions, never clog, fairly light, as wide as I need, tubeless ready. I think they might be called something else now...

if you're racing then maybe you want to look at different tyres to suit conditions, mud x are quite soft and therefore slow on hard trails, they're great in mud, perhaps look at conti race kings for the drier months.

I wouldn;t use Mud X for summer racing, tbh.

"Best xc tyre" is like "best car" - no such thing, too many variables.

Racing Ralph, pretty well is 'the' Xc tyre. It's also far better in the wet than you might think.

I use Speed King Supersonics in the deep gloop. They should be a Marathon race tyre, but I find the too slow. Though the characteristics that make them slow work in their favour in the mud.

XC racing in the dry = Conti Twister Supersonic (has Black Chili compound as standard)

I've just ordered myself some Racing Ralphs Evos from CRC (hopefully they'll turn up before the weekend) £25 for the 2.4's.

They are to replace a brand new set of Conti Mountain King 2 ProTection that i'm finding a little too slow.
