Right, got a 29er+ Surly ECR bikepacking rig, all built up now! But I want to install something to prevent punctures, which is quite a simple problem to prevent which causes a lot of hassle, espcially if you've got all your gear on your bike! There's kevlar tyre liners, filling inner tubes with sealant, not sure what else? Anyone care to help? Thanks 🙂

go ghetto tubeless with your current tyres?

I put it off for ages, then did it with little fuss and little cost. should have done it years ago. No reason not to take a spare inner/tyre boot with you bikepacking if you want the security. But no more laden pinch flats/snakebites or relentless thorn holes once youve gone tubeless.

I think I might just actually, only problem is that sealant costs a frigging ton, and my rims aren't tubeless ready (kris holm 29er) but I think I'll just do it xD Any advice on cheaper sealant?

Liquid modelling latex, water down at 3:1 (latex to water). Consistency of single cream.

I would deffo recommend tubeless with the caveat that it took me a while to find a tyre that didn't leek sealant through the side walls & fit the rim well.

Three brands of tyres later & have gone a year with out a flat ,at 16 stone doing 500 miles XC a month , I'm well happy !
