Have sold a frame on cerisebiciclet and need to post it. Last time I used Paisley Freight but it seems to have gone up as the estimate was £30 and they only offer next day.

Is that what it costs these days, or can someone reccomend an alternative? It can take a few days to get there.

Ta,

If you can get it in a qualifying box then Parcelforce are only around £10 if you drop it at a Post Office. Sent a frame last week.

I did Parcelforce just before Christmas especially useful as they now collect from your home, don't even need to take it anywhere.

Parcel force again here and very satisfied. Think it was £11. Just check compensation levels though

I think std compensation is up to £150. You can purchase extra though...

Watch your local post office parcel hatch dims though. I prepaid for a parcel force delivery with post office drop off and my local post office said it was too big. Off to a bigger post office tomorrow...

I went with Paisley Freight due to a quick Google and seeing recommendations on here. Booked for today. Waited in all day. No show. Email at 5.55 this evening from APC (presumably subcontracted by Paisley) to say they will now collect tomorrow. So, need to change all my plans and be at home all day. Again.

Obviously, getting the email at 5.55 meant that trying to ring and speak to an actual person at either Paisley or APC before they close at 6pm was a fruitless exercise.

Not cheap either. £35 just to send, plus another £30 to insure to the necessary value.

Sounds familiar regarding Paisley, a right pain in the bottom, endless no shows and just bullpoo when you email them rather than a 'sorry, we'll make certain it's tomorrow ' Avoid at all costs.

PF have been fine for me from my local post office, I'm lucky enough to have one in the village

ParcelForce with insurance from Secursus if required.

I drop off at the ParcelForce depot for the cheapest price as it's not far away and I don't need to wait in.

Another "box from Halfords and Parcelforce" +1 for me. Have recently parted out an old bike so done a lot of posting and it's been hassle free. If you buy the label online it's cheaper than in the shop.

Technically it would be a parcel force large due to the dims of the box. So if dropping off at a postoffice you'd need one that accepts PF large parcels (smaller offices may not). It'll be around £14 at a guess if you take it to a PO and get them to process it. It may be cheaper online if you print the labels yourself.

Bare in mind that your local PO won't make nearly as much commission on a prepaid label. So if you like shopping local, watched Mr bates Vs the po and supporting your local shops & independent businesses, don't pay for postage online and get them to process the labels.

Having said that I've always used something like parcelmonkey to get the best pricing when providing quotes etc. for postage.

Not necessarily for a frame. Just cut the box down if it doesn't meet the 1.5 m max length and 3 m girth limits.
