As title, what is the most comfortable inflatable air camping mat with thermal protection so I don’t need a closed cell mat underneath?
Ideally, for the lady. So enjoying rather than enduring.
Any really good pack small inflatable pillows the forum recommends?
Alpkit?
Appreciate any feedback in advance

Recommend the exped synmat winter or downmat. Not cheap but could end up good value if it sees a it of use. Light, thick and warm. The normal non-winter synmat is good too, but slightly thinner. I use a super light sea to summit pillow and it’s great - can’t remember model. Reckon the expend ones would be good too.
Car camping/staying on campsite, or lightweight in the hills?
If car/site camping, we've a really plush double bed size Vango mat. It's about 5-8cm thick, foam, feels like the early Thermarests. Weight is north of a kilo and pack size when rolled 'significant'. We've put a sheet on when we use it for added niceness.
Exped synmat UL, really comfy and warm, very good if she's a side sleeper, as the shape of the baffles hold you.
I tried loads of pillows, someone recommended the decathlon forclaz trekking pullow, and it's superb.
The synmat winter is indeed supposed to be very good, but tbh I slept out on the standard one last April in the Galloways when it got down to -9 and I was still toastie.
I would look at decathlon - TREKKING INFLATABLE MATTRESS TREK 700 AIR XL
This is a backpacking mat - but I have used it in winter, sleeping on a damp stone floor where it was so cold people's shoes froze and I was toasty.
Comfiest mat I have used.
Alpkit Dozer. It's just been amazing. Bought when i had a bad back. As good as my matress at home.
for car camping, a 10cm thick vango grande has done us well. They are massive though, bigger than our 4 man tent
I really liked my alpkit numo.
if it's for car camping the Exped Megamat duo is bar far the most comfortable thing i've ever slept on. not cheap or lightweight, but get a great nights sleep on it and more comfy than my bed at home
My other half has had back problems this year so we bought an inflatable camping bed base from decathlon, you need a similar shaped inflatable mattress, we have the one with a zip which fits well. She loves it but it's obviously a bulky car camping option
Another Exped user here. The internal welds on my Winterlite were starting to tear so I needed to find a left-handed slope to sleep on - I'd had nearly 100 nights on it though. Got a Hyperlite for my birthday. A couple of points to note: don't over inflate them - it puts stress on the internal welds when you sit or kneel on them; get the wide version of whichever mat - the standard width are just a bit narrow.
If car camping get the biggest, comfiest mat that will fit in your tent. Remember that they reduce the effective height of the tent and what did feel roomy can suddenly feel "cosy".
I've tried one of these, they're good. However for our last trip I bought a Vango Blissful Double Airbed. I guess they're really made for indoor use as it's mains-only, but if your vehicle has an inverter, it's bloody brilliant. Way cheaper than the aforementioned Vango Grande (and any of my fancy bikepacking ones!) but way more comfy (at 450mm tall it's like being on our bed at home 😃) and fits nicely in our 6-man-but-2-man-really Vango Airbeam tent.for car camping, a 10cm thick vango grande has done us well. They are massive though, bigger than our 4 man tent
We've enjoyed our multimat 3 seasons for a few years. Last week, Mrs BigJohn bunged the matress topper we have for the sofa bed in the car as we were setting off. It made it even better.
