I'm looking for a pair of road shoes, what is the best value for money just now? I realise most people are using sidi or specialised, but would like some suggestions. Recomended sites to check?

My best advice is to bypass the "great deals" and try some on. the best value shoes are ones you have for years without soreness or pain.

I've been using DHB ones from Wiggle for the 3 years, still comfortable but on their last legs now. I'll be ordering another pair soon.

Value has little to do with price when it comes to shoes. Different brands fit very differently, and just because something may be on special offer or not, doesn't make it good value if it doesn't fit!

Shimano will typically be cheaper than most of the major players though, and if they fit well, they're a good quality shoe. Too wide in the heel for me on a road bike though.

Not tried them, but CRC have a load of Diadora's cheap right now. Might be worth a punt as I've heard great things, but obviously you can't try before you by, so be prepared for them not to fit if you go that route...

Thanks all! I got into cycling last year and got a cross bike and specialised MTb shoes which fit well. Ive been using I on the road over the winter with them. Just didn't want to rush out and but something for the name, on the other hand they have the name for a reason.

Just got myself a road bike, and did not want to spend too much on gear.
Bought the diadora sprinter 2 shoes from crc. Very impressed for the money. Fit is spot on and seem to be good quality.

Just got some dhb's for commuting, the quality of the shoe has gone down noticeably to those of three or four years ago

Not a great help but shoes are one thing I would not get without either being able to try on or return easily
But saying that I got some very cheap time ones from Planet X last year and they are great
Only £20 so thought I'd take a punt
