Have had a look at the Spokeshirts site, no sign of the lights this year.

Shame, have bought two sets in the past from them and very happy with the attitude, product and service.

Any recommendations for other reliable UK suppliers?

DX now have a UK warehouse with a subset of their stock - includes the lights.

As TJ says.

Has to be Smudge.

Out of stock

I think more are coming any day now.

Worth the wait, if its not too long, as he is UK based and very good to deal with.

If all I could afford was a budget light, I'd see Smudge first.
🙂

Good luck.

Cheers folks.

I've got one, got Ms Spanner one for Christmas last year (I know, I'm just an old romantic 🙂 ) and we're getting the youngest daughter one this year.

Off to Swaledale in October for a week so want to be sure of getting it for then.

Once again, ta for the help.

I asked smudge the other day
I'm sure he won't mind:

I should be getting a new delivery this week, they have already left and are mid air somewhere. Just hope they don’t get too delayed with the bad windy weather we are getting.

Incase I forget to update you please keep track on either Facebook or the website

Firstly my lights are not built by or supplied to the dx website/company.

New stock is arriving this Thursday UPS clearance permitting and also more stock is being shipped to me this Friday.

So if you can wait a short while (not dx times) you can have one of these lights in a fairly quick time.

For more to date info either check my FB page or website.

Thanks

Smudge

Smudge - do your products come pre-packed all in, or do you assemble packs from parts? i.e. do you stock head units alone?

PS I assume these XML heads run off 7.4v dont they?

Hi mate,

They come as a complete kit at the minute. But let me get this week out of the way with back orders and email me and I'll see how I can help you out with just a light head.

I ordered my Magicshine 900 lumen light from dx using the sku to get them from their UK warehouse, ordered on the Sunday night and arrived on the Thurs, happy with that.

Slight hijack: is there anywhere I can get a replacement lens for a Magicshine rather than bodging one myself? I managed to smash mine in an OTB last night - the rest of it held up fine, I only noticed the breakage an hour later when putting the bike away.

Rusty, where abouts in Swaledale?

Mr Derek Starship of this parish has one of the Smudge lights. He is chuffed to bits about it.

Harry, we've booked a cottage in Gunnerside for a week.

We've stayed at the Dales Bike Centre a few times before, but this works out cheaper.
Will be calling in to see Brenda & Stu for route advice & cake though. 🙂

Rusty, if you're there on the Friday you should definitely join in with the DBC night ride to give your lights a workout - hearty pasta or similar in the café, a couple of hours of wherever Stu takes you then a beer or two afterwards. Depending on the week, I might even see you there myself.

If you do order from DX they have much improved their delivery times. Last year I ordered a torch and bike light and they took about 6 weeks. I've just received a new bike light and I only ordered it 8 days ago.

Good news, we ordered from smudge last night.

Bad news, he's out of stock! Ah well, only a month 'till we go away, I'm sure we'll get it by then. 😀
