Can anyone recommend a good option to ship a pair of 29er wheels, value £100,
Looking at myhermes max size is 225cm , across width height and length, it may work if I ship individually
Take a look at parcel to go.com
Thanks creamegg I've added some dimensions on that site and they are quoting multiple companies, whereas when I have looked at myhermes direct the total length X width X height is borderline acceptable..
I hate wrapping and posting large items 🙁
Struggling with this one my package is 74x68x32cm and aprox 6kg
Everyone I find a company either the packet size or weight is too big so alternatives offered go well over £15,
Just tried parcel monkey and wheels are on the restricted list for parcelforce
I've posted 2 pairs of 29er wheels by hermes, in wheel boxes. Fair play, they don't literally measure everything so it's possible I was a little oversized but it worked out fine
Ask your LBS or Hope how they post them.
Thanks Northwood, Nash, I noticed in recent months Hermes have added to t&cs tat an admin charge will be levied for incorrect measurements and over weight
Ups £10 seems the best option, I got some 650b wheels earlier in the year from uk mail , but I can't find them unless a business

Yup, I can't remember what it is but it's not horrendous- it's the sort of thing you kind of expect to get bent over for, but it was only something like the extra cost due plus a fiver when I got it, something in that order anyway. Not too unreasonable I thought.
I've used Myhermes a few times recently to send wheels too - got away with sending 700c in a 26" box via the judicial use of gaffer tape, flaps on box wouldn't close completely but it was close enough - just added more bubble wrap round the top of the wheels & a load more tape to seal it up, came in just under the 225cm width + circumference limit.
On their T&C it now states:
"We may charge you an administration fee of £25 if you breach any of our terms and conditions, this will be in addition to any other rights that we may have."
So it might be wise to try & get it as close as possible to the limit via some wheel-box origami.
Edit - i've used parcelforce 48 before & it's varies with the weight between £12-£16 iirc...
