So, after months of mulling over my next bike, I've finally decided on a Transition Spur.

Can any forum members recommend a UK based Transition dealer from which to buy the said bike from?

I'm aware that because of the huge issues with the global supply chain at the moment, I might not be able to get hold of a bike until well into next year, but it would be good to know which dealers offer the best service / can actually get hold of stock.

I bought my sentinel from kustom bikes in minehead, Somerset. He was really good and helpful. No idea on stock though!
Ace bicycles in Monmouth would also be worth a call

Windwave are the distributor down in Gosport, and the network is across the country, but the reality is stock is next to zero, think they're June 2022 or later now and there'll be a waiting list across all the dealers, so doubt you'll have better luck going through one particular shop, it's just get your order in and hope that stock comes in faster than anticipated and those already waiting get something else and move you up the list.

This I'm afraid. I've been waiting since early this year as well 😱

Ace in Monmouth have a few Transitions in stock, but I couldn't tell you which models or what sizes. Worth a call though. Closed on Mondays.

I'm on a waiting list since July. I've gone to Quench cycles bedgebury as its local-ish. This will be my first full bike, so want to have back up for any problems should they occur.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm not in any particular hurry for one so I might just drop the above stores a quick shout and get on the waiting list so to speak.

I've actually found a shop in Barcelona (I'm based in Spain most of the year) who are showing as having stock of the 2021 GX build but as is typical with Spanish businesses, they haven't answered any of my emails, nor do they bother answering the phone. I'd much rather go through a UK dealer for this reason.

Pedals in Edinburgh sell Transitions and are a good shop to deal with.

Got my 2018 smuggler in 2019 from tweeks. Have had two warranty claims so far (freehub and rear axle fwiw) and both times dealt with exceptionally.

Not quite what you asked but there’s a guy at DirtKing in Geneva who is a stockist and I was in contact with about a Spur a few months back and he had two GX versions in. Perhaps he could ship down to Barcelona? I ended up getting one from probikeshop.fr as he didn’t have the Sram version in at the time.

I'd give Brink a call, they seem to have plenty of stock ATM and are known for sorting people out.

Unit Cycles in Cornwall is a good shop. Think they might have a couple of Spires in stock but not sure about Spurs.

Another recommendation for Pedals in Edinburgh.
I’ve bought several bikes there, including two Transitions. They have been fabulous on every occasion.

Brink are my LBS, when I narrowed my choice down to a Spur or a Santa Cruz Tallboy in April they seemed to be about the only shop in the country with stock of anything, in this case they had plenty of Santa Cruz stock of all models but were struggling with the Spur - orders in April would not be due till December I think they said, so who knows what that situation is now.....I bought a Tallboy and couldn't be more pleased with it.

They have lots of Santa Cruz stock at the moment as well, so I'd second giving them a call but I think you'll struggle with a Spur.  If there is anyway they can sort you out, they will go the extra mile to do it.

I just pick up a new Spire frame yesterday, it came from Brink. They were great to deal with and crucially had the exact size, material, colour combo I was hoping for. Your best bet would be to contact them (and as many other dealers as needed) to see if anyone has what you want, if they do get it bought quick before someone else does. I lucked out, rang Brink the day they'd had a delivery and they happened to have one spare.

I’m based in Spain most of the year

I wouldn’t be buying from post-Brexit U.K. in that case. If you have any kinda of warranty issue I could imagine things quickly becoming a massive pain in the arse

I had thought of that. However there's a very good chance that I'll be based back in the UK from next summer onwards and it looks as though that's going to be the earliest that I'll be able to get one of these so hopefully won't be an issue.

Gareth @ Studio Velo in Castle Douglas is a good lad; well worth a shout if you're still on the hunt.

Yes, Brink did a great job when I replaced my Santa Cruz (but they didn't have any Spurs in my size available at the time).

Pedals in Edinburgh gets another vote from me. Excellent customer service too! So much so, I made an 8 hour round-trip just to visit the shop 🙂

Thanks for all the props guys 🙂 I don't think we are going to get any more Spur frames or bikes at pedals until around April next year. We have a large green frame that has been on order since July. 2020.. We should see that in Jan, got a nice build kit ear marked for it. 34s, AXS and the like.

They look amazing though, would love to have a few more of them!

We do have quite a few carbon Spire bikes, alu Spire frames, Sentinel frames in both alu and carbon, and an alu Scout frame.

Just passed our 10 year Transition anniversary ❤️
