Looking for some new area's to bike in, So far done the Highlands and Derbyshire.

Despite doing it backwards Carn Ban Mor is probably the best ride i've ever completed, despite doing it backwards!

Anybody else know of other descents, landy tracks or gnarly i'm not fussed!

Looking at Sticks Pass at the minute

You think CBM backwards is the best ride you've completed?

Well in that case, things can only get better...

😉

CBM backwards.

its a day out i the Scottish highlands, anybody that doesn't find this fun even if it is bashing down a landy track isn't a true wild biker!

Yes, that's it you got it in one, i've ridden every mile of them, your a bright guy.

Haven't ridden many and never ridden in scotland or wales, but my favourites are Bringewood and FoD.

You won't get many higher trails than CBM, but I've heard there's a pretty massive landrover track coming off Beinn a'Bhuird 😉

Go from Ft william to kinlochleven. Take in the ciaran path and the devils staircase. Either n to s or s to n - its all good. In fact just ride the whw. N to s and miss out day1. Basically from tyndrum to ft william. Theres also the old man of storr on skye or idrigall point or glen sligachan(but I didnt think much of that). Also try glen finglas in the trossachs. Tuff climb but an ear popping descent. Plenty in scotland mate. Ben macdui and torridon spring to mind as well. Pick up andy mccandlishes book. Full of killa rides!

But back-filled years ago...

Plenty of better / longer LRT descents than CBM - Glas Tulaichean and Carn a Chlamain are two summit rides that instantly spring to mind.

Idrigall Point is not what I'd call a good ride.

Sligachan on the other hand is defiantly one of the best in the UK.

Imopossible to say - how do you compare a quantocks trail to a highland one? You can't.

FWIW the riding I have enjoyed most ( that is not "wandering thru the scenery" ) was the quantocks and various bits around Avimore

Nan Beild in the Lakes. Start it from the top of high street down Harter Fell. Lost count of how many times i've ridden it and it just gets better and better

...out the front door, then just make it up as you go along?

Swindon, hasn't that got the magic roundabout? that would be fun in rush hour!

I know what you mean clowner - just because I didnt enjoy sligachan didnt make it bad. I always find these posts interesting due to the fact everyone sees different things in a route. Skyes a long way to go as well.
