The terminals on the batts and the lights look a bit dodgy - any decent tapes out there which last longer than insulating tape in the rain.
Self amalgamation tape bonds over time into a solid block apparently, repaired one of my lights by building it up so that the 'turn' in the cable wasn't so close to the connector (that link was the 1st I found, the stuff I used was only about 10mm wide)
Worth considering some better Connectors the waterproof seal would help alleviate the issue in the future, remember you also need a set for the charger
brilliant thanks - the bodge and the best solution in one post.
The terminals on my solar storm head unit worked loose around a year ago, although the connection inside the unit remained intact it would have been a matter of time before it stopped working.
Two dollops of sugru around the terminal sorted it and its been perfect since.
Is that surgru as good as it looks?
