What's the neatest, simplest and most reliable tensioner device on the market nowadays? IIR, the DMR ones used to be the choice to go for.
Hardtail frame?
I have a ZTTO one which works alright but haven't given it a proper off road test
Knowing nothing about these things, I bought a Diamondback DBX141. It works. It cost £7.99.
I have a surly singulator which is great. I also have used a 4jery (sp) which is a copy and is ok
On One Doofer seems ok so far. I'd probably get a Surly Singleator though just because you can fit it to push the chain upwards or downwards for the tension.
any derailliuer
Neatest?
Have you got iscg mounts? ( Or whatever they are called!)
I was recommended a Rohloff SS tensioner for my Scandal as I have thighs of iron 😉 and my lbs reckoned the Surly singulator wouldn’t last five minutes. So far it has worked perfectly.
used something like this on my streetfighter - does the job
XLC Unisex's CR-A03 Chain Tensioner
Rohloff.
Yes it’s expensive but it’s really the best one I’ve used in place of a mech.
DMR.
My singulator survives fine in the tandem and the cheap copy on my ebike. So power does not affect them
Rolhoff are nice and I have a brand new spare that I probably don't need... message if interested
