I've had a Pinnacle bike bag for a couple of years and flown a few times with my road bike. After advice I lined the bag with a cardboard bike box and used plenty of pipe lagging to protect the frame. The bag has been great as it's not too heavy, there's plenty of space for other luggage and most importantly the bike has always arrived unmarked.
Unfortunately, on a recent trip, baggage handlers appear to have dragged the bag on its side to the aircraft, resulting in huge scuffs and tears on the bag. BA have kindly offered up to £100 for a replacement. Although the Pinnacle bag is discontinued, I've found this bag, which appears to be the same as mine but rebranded, for £90 at CRC:
