Afternoon, I have a number of jackets to wash and waterproof. Goretex, event and haglofs proof if it makes any difference. So looking for a bit of guidance on the best way to do it.
Handwash or machine?
Wash with normal detergent?
Grangers or nikwax?
Wash-in or spray on?
Tumble dry?
Any help would be appreciated.

Always used nickwax, Wash in tech wash first, Then while still damp-ish post spincycle proof using spray on. Heat is supposed to help but dont have a tumble dryer so just hung up above boiler.

(i've always bought spray on cause you can use it on shell jackets and lined jackets. Wash in you can only used on shells)(screw buying both)

Hey Andy.
When I wash and reproof my various bits of kit (motorcycle and general outdoor; Buffalo, tights, gloves) I use either soap flakes or nikwax techwash (liquid soap) for the wash at 30'C, then normally a short wash at 40'C with the proofer in for the general outdoor kit. With the motorcycle kit I normally spray the proofer on afterwards and leave it to dry somewhere warm, close to a radiator.
I don't have a tumble drier.

Make sure to clean out the machine before hand. Take out the detergent drawer and filter thing and give them a good clean. Then put some boiling water down the detergent drawer and then run a boiling wash with a couple of towels and soda crystals to clear any residue
