Need to apply a couple of frame protectors on my frame so that the brake cables don't rub away at my paintwork. Must be best quality.
There's a reason why invisiframe is both expensive and popular
Does invisiframe have to be cut from a sheet to the required shape?
If you only want to do small sections of your frame look for 3M Ventureshield on ebay or the like and then cut pieces to fit where you want.
Invisiframe is great if you want to do the whole frame though.
Invisiframe is a kit with sections cut out for specific frames.
The 3M Ventureshield is pretty similar and will come in the size you order from which you can cut out the pieces that you want. It's apparently what is used on expensive cars for paint protection.
You can get generic kits of various sizes from invisiframe. Just a few circles and ovals if you want.
However, if it's got to be the best, why not do the whole bike?
Look on shack-wrap website.
Anyone tried HKT products? Kit looks decent tbh, I'm tempted. UK made too.
I've seen the HKT stuff on a bike, seemed pretty tidy. If you can put up with the PROTECT letters on the seat stay part. Closer to helitape thickness than the thicker honeycomb of AMS Frameguard IIRC.
Aye, I don't mind the lettering tbh, I'd ordered some tape from ebay as I usually just DIY it, but it's shite looking, so it's going back, and my go to are sold out - JRA and Biketart. Ordered HKT XXL kit, see how it goes.
For cable rub areas I have started using bits of insulating tape on all but my best bike. This is definitely not best quality, but it does mean that I check it from time to time after washing. I've found that just about every frame protection gets some sort of grit around the edges so the paint gets damaged. Insulation tape means it's very cheap to remove clean and stick a new bit on
Invisiframe if you have the time and the money - i think its good value and a not too difficult job.
I really like DyedBro.
Invisiframe might be best if you want to do the entire frame but if you just want to do smaller areas then 3m helitape is thicker so I would imagine harder wearing but probably less invisible
Invisiframe if you have the time and the money – i think its good value and a not too difficult job.
Yes well, Some shops make it harder than it should be.
Just did a Dyed Bro kit on my frame, first time I've ever done it and found it pretty straightforward and good quality, especially for the money and should you wish lots of designs to choose from.
