Hi, I'm new here but I'm hoping someone can give me some advice about good downhill trails in Renfrewshire or East Renfrewshire... I live in Paisley and would love to be able to just go out and find some great trails from my door, but don't want to end up getting lost.. If someone who knows the area could help me that would be great.
Thanks
Andrew
There are some trails in Glenifer Braes.
I stayed in Paisley about 10 years ago and they were okay for a quick blast on a weekday evening. Not sure they would really provide downhill adrenaline though! But there was enough to keep me amused for an hour
Cathkin is technically not in East Ren but it’s probably not too bad a drive from Paisley - basically follow the main road towards East Kilbride out to the Sheddens Roundabout. If you were looking to cycle might be a bit far on a downhill bike.
You definitely want to get yourself across the bridge to the Kilpatricks. Its a major uphill slog to the top but once there, there are plenty of runs to get the adrenalin flowing.
Head to Dunoon, enduro type riding add in the ferry trip and it’s a great day out
We have some nice trails up the OK hills
trail bike or DH there’s enough for all
as said its a big slog up but good once your up there
And only 10-15 minutes from Paisley
