I've got a mate who's looking for a bargin pair of roadie SPDs and I mentioned that at some point in the year Specialized discount a load of their shoe stock quite substantially, but I can't remember when... Are the sales likely to be around September time, do you reckon?

Or, are there any other good deals out there you're aware of? (He's a size 10.)

Thanks in advance!

No idea when Specialized do their discounting, sorry.

Assume you have checked out Merlin/Ribble/CRC/Wiggle for deals? These are pretty good, and a good price:

Just buy last years model, or the year before.
Trust me, shoe technology doesn't advance that quickly.

Thanks pleaderwilliams - I presume he has yes. Those Shimanos look great, but unfortunately don't have a size 10!

Yeah crikey, I totally agree - it's just a case of finding somewhere with his size in stock. The benefit of Spesh is that he's tried a few so could order them online, being fairly confident they'd fit.

Anyone else spotted any bargains?!

Depending on how you define bargain, on-one have sidi's in at the moment, sizing (IME) is one up from spesh (so 44 spesh = 45 sidi) but sidi are then fractionally wider. Shimano come up really narrow on my feet (but like SIDI they do a wider fit version as well).
