You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A decent hardtail, ideally locally. Wanting to take advantage of a sellers market and flog a good HT (Bird) but would rather not have to ship during lockdown here is Scotland. I have never been much of a fan of eBay, though don’t use it more than occasionally. Is Facebook Marketplace any good ? I’ve never used it so no idea. Have popped it onto local club site this afternoon but not many members so not ideal.
Here and Pinkbike?
I've sold loads of stuff, including bikes, over the last couple of weeks on here and Pinkbike.
Picked up the bike boxes from Halfords.
Just put up some Roval carbons tonight and will be putting up some Ohlins forks tomorrow
I never thought I would say it but it's easier to post them on Pinkbike and doesn't have the limitations on adverts and photos that Singletrack has. It's also easier to repost
Saying that the sell rate has been about 50/50
Plenty of good photos, accurate description and the right price helps
Good info, thanks, never used Pinkbike.
Facebook Market place working very well for me.
I want to use Facebook Marketplace, but on both my phone and Chromebook, when I reach the point of posting, the apps says something has gone wrong. I get to the point that I can't post it or delete the advert. I now have 2 stuck in limbo.
Don't discount eBay. A huge audience and a feeding frenzy for used bikes at the moment. Just sold an old hard tail on there for double what I was expecting. My add had 2000+ views, 200 watchers and 17 bidders. You can stipulate local pick up only and at the moment people are willing to travel a long way for a bike. You do get loads of chancers early in the auction messaging you to sell cheap off line. I ignored them and let the auction run. Cash on collection, happy buyer and completely trouble free experience.
I use eBay and pinkbike. Be careful on Facebook as there’s plenty of scammers about.
Easily Facebook at the moment. May as well put it on pinkbike as well
Thanks for all the info, have gone with FB Marketplace, the Bikeparts for sale UK page and classifieds on here. Will stay away from eBay for now...
