Currently staying on Llyn peninsula near Abersoch. Want to take my daughter mtbing. She is 16 and a complete beginner. She has a reasonable cube hardtail 29er and is not very fit! She  has only been on proper single track a couple of times.

can anyone suggest a good area reasonably nearby?

thanks

edit. Separately, where would people recommend for me. I have a short travel 29er xc bike which tells you what type of trail im into! Strictly wheels on the ground but like technical and fast rolling singletrack. I’m quite fit. Don’t want table tops and shore!

Coed y brenin prob best option from llyn - great trail centre with plenty of options. There's a blue and the red fox one is quite accessible for beginners iirc (went round it with my son when he was 10 or so).

It's the climbs that can really ruin a ride for beginners more than low level tech, and CyB is good in that respect on the beginner trails.

If you go then take a photo of the map so you can adapt on the ride.

Coed Y Brenin
Minortaur and Cyflym Goch (I have spelled that wrong probably but it will be close enough but that's how the red fox trail is labelled).

Minortaur is really smooth flowing and a fair amount of graded surface. Best to start there.

Coed y brenin will be great for this. There is a variety of trails, a bike shop, ebike hire, and a great cafe and showers.

All the above will make it less of an ordeal and way more fun

If you're after trail-centery stuff, CYB as above, although probably the flowier trails such as Minortawr for her.

For you, probably one of the reds like Dragon's Back, although you may wonder about your lack of suspension on the first couple of sections (it's not all like that). That has Dreamtime/Pink Heifer and the Addams Family sections, which are exactly what you're after.

If you're after sometime a lot more mellow, the Mawdach Trail out of Dolgellau is very pleasant.

While you're on your way to CyB if you want a gentle spin there's always the path around Trawsfynydd Lake.

Just to add, CyB is brilliant in the rain. No mud whatsoever and hardly any puddles.
