Off to NI next week for a 10-day break with the better half, therefore no biking allowed.
I'm taking my DSLR kit with me as standard, with a bunch of filters and my new Big Stopper and was intrigued if any forum members had some recommended spots for good landscape photos.

I know some smart-alec will probably take the mick out of me, but I was wondering if there were any "not to be missed" features which I really aught to make an effort to see.

I've never been to NI before so don't know where to aim for on a good evening.

Already got notes on Giants Causeway, the Elephant, the harbour at Ballintoy.

We're staying in the Glens of Antrim FYI.

Cheers for the help!

Which of the 9 Glens are you staying in? (i'm from Antrim btw)

All these within a 2 hour drive and worth a visit.

Marble Arch Caves
Spelga Valley
The Mournes
Slemish
Strangford Lough
Fermanagh lakes

If you're driving to these, you'll spot loads of great landscapes on route.

p.s. avoid Portrush if at all possible.

p.p.s. what is the elephant?

"the elephant" seems to be the name of a large lump of rock off of Ballintoy beach.
It may have another name, but that was the one that seemed to keep cropping up!

We're staying in Glenshesk.

Also, whats so bad about Portrush??

as said above there is lots of great landscapes. Make sure to take in the coast road which goes from Larne right over to Portrush/Portstewart.

Carrick-a-reed rope bridge is also worth a visit and some great photo oppurtunities.

For something off the main routes go to Murlough Bay. There isnt much to do there but its got a great landscape on a sunny day.

if your hungry go to the Harbour Bar in Portrush, for a great feed......i bet you wont eat it all!

Portrush is like a poor man's Blackpool and is fine it that's what you're after or are taking the kids. Portstewart is just up the road and has a better beach without the 'amusements'.
