Just received a pair of Santini Vega overshoes in the post. They looked good in the description but are very light and flimsy and will be going back (along with the fact they are pink and not red as pictured 🙄😡).
Anyway, I’ve found it hard to get good overshoes in general. The last ones I got, Castelli, were like big baggy sloppy softshell bags around your feet.

I generally believe in buy cheap buy twice. So I’m not really expecting any DHB recommendations, or maybe I’m wrong.

Someone put me out of my misery please?

Planet x velcro ones £15, spending anymore is utterly pointless. Zips just burst.

If money is no object why not buy some proper winter shoes. Overshoes are always a bit of a compromise in my opinion.

Tried them before, not enough flexibility when climbing standing out of the saddle. Not performance oriented, didn’t like them. Probably good for commuting though.

I understand the zips eventually go on them, don’t really expect them to last more than one winter .

Maybe you tried the wrong winter boots. Mine are even comfier than my summer shoes and they don’t have zips.

I have a pair of Shimano S-Phyre overshoes to go with my S-Phyre shoes. No zips or Velcro, they simply pull on over the shoe. Great bits of kit.

Shimano S2000 are decent, pretty cheap too.

Endura mt500 (the ugliest overshoes) currently £20 at CRC. Just got a pair to replace the 3yo last set. Paired with Palm Stomp neoprene socks and feet remain warm and dry in all shoes

I mean probably spatz. Anything with a zip is shite.

The other thing is to think about how waterproof the material running over the top of the overshoe is.

For proper wet winter rides I really rate my Bontrager RXL soft shell overshoes. Had them about 4 years now and still going strong. They’ve been used a lot in all sorts of weather but still look reasonably good.
But for this time of year when it’s wet and not really cold I use Velotoze high overshoes. They’re a bit of a pain to get on, but again I really rate them....the downside to them is I tend to go through 4 pairs during Autumn and Spring.

For wet conditions and standard shoes, Velotoze II. Not too robust if you're going to snag them but warm and waterproof.

I was going to ask if those Endura overshoes now size up accurately and fit adult sized shoes. Reading the reviews on CRC they still seem to be comically small so unlikely to fit my size 11 shoes.

Spatz because they’re run by my school chum.

I'd disagree about my winter boots, Mavic's - work brilliant.

Also bought some Shimano gore-tex shoes for the gravel bike - not quite as stiff as my summer SPD's but decent:

Another vote for Planet X. They are warm and the Velcro works. And they they are by far the longest lasting I’ve ever had. Got through endura, sportfull, northwave over the years. Non as good

Just bought GripGrab for MTB. My Enduras died quite quickly and GripGrab look to have a better under the shoe fitment. No zips either.

I have Spatz and Castelli for road shoes. The Spatz got damaged quickly and they now have bought out a V2 which looks more robust.
