Mate has £1500 budget, anyone seen anything that looks like a bargain. 650b and 130mm or more would be best I think. Thanks for any suggestions.

See the Start Cycles PSA. 40% off all bikes.

Dunno if it was just Friday, but included Zesty and Spicy around that price IIRC.

Radon bikes have a range that come in under that, and they look very well specced.

Boardman and probably something Canyon/On-One/Web based would be decent options; otherwise maybe a Trance or for a bit more a Merida.

There are loads about...

Some of the Spech Stumpjumper full sussers come down to this price in the sales.

Saracen Ariels always get discounted, ignore the 2-3k RRP, i got my 140mm one for £1500 a few years ago.

Giant Trance.

Canyon (obviously).

Rose bikes (another German direct sales group).

Commencal (maybe?, depends what their base spec model is now).

I got my Giant Trance SX down from 2699 To 1499 recently from Pedalon. Has gone up slightly since but great spec for money.

Loads of interesting options up there.

If you can wait a couple of months, as matther01 mentions, there's the Bird Aeris

The Bird Aeris 3 comes in 1x or 2x flavour for £1579 delivered.

There are demo bikes available if you look at their website, which is one of the reasons I was never quite comfortable buying from Germany.
