Does anyone have any recommendations?
My daughter has been riding an Islabike Beinn 26” in the small size.
It has been an excellent bike which she’s enjoyed riding very much over the years she has had it.
It is now on the small side and I’m thinking about what she needs to replace it
She is progressing to rougher trails and is now finding the rigid bike unforgiving , so I’m considering a hardtail or full sus .
She’ll be 12 soon , around 5’2” and growing daily!!!
Budget? New or second hand?
More than likely secondhand, around £400 although I’m open to suggestions outside of this .
I got my lad a 'woman's' voodoo soukri at Halfords, £360 at the moment. Good bike, 2x9,27.5. A bit hefty but he loves it and it is well able for our local trail centre.
I've just sold a 26" / 15" frame Specialized FSR Pro for £400... Perfect for our 10-13 yr old. I'd look for looked after 26" wheel FS.
He's now 5'7" or so, now rocking a new ride.
My lad rides a voodoo nzumbi from Halfords 26” wheel so managed to get the forks and wheels upgraded for a few quid as the standard ones were heavy. Think it’s about 9kgs now and he keeps up with me on the ups

😉
My quite tall 11 yr old daughter is on a Cannondale f5 in small. Its perfect and quite cheap off ebay.
Nem Jnr is about the same height and on a 15" Scott 26" hardtail which is spot on. Figure I can just upgrade the frame for a few years yet
