Looking at Sweet Protection delirium at leisure lakes with 40% off.

I would love a Narrona Jacket for biking but they are pricy!

Hood = Good.

Is there much difference in the Gore Tex active or Gore Tex Pro?

Should I go bike specific or do a lot of companies do long arms and dropped tail?

Are Pac Lite ones good?

Looking high end function, don't mind paying a bit if it works and stays water proof.

Active shell = uber breathable above durability.
ProShell = durability above breathability.
Paclite = older generation that I *think* is less breathable and less durable than ProShell.

I have been looking at this for a while as my 15 year old nike(20k fabric) has finally given up the ghost.

So far the mt500 is winning but it is pricy so other suggestions appreciated.

If you're a large I got mine from Stif for £120.

I've not used it yet so can't comment on its awesomeness but it feels well made and fits my 6 ft frame and slight belly just fine.

I also have one of those decathlon jackets and can't fault it. Cheap enough that you won't want to cry if you fall off and rip it either

I have an MT500 and it is truly great for riding.

For general duties I prefer my Keela Saxon, which also happens to be less than half the price !

I've got an On One Weaver. Being a bit of a howies fanboy I eyed up a fancy one from there, plus a few other expensive options but ended up unable to justify it. Might be different if it were a hiking jacket, but I figured I'm just going to cover it in winter cr*p and there's every chance I'll rip it to shreds anyway.

The Weaver was 46 quid and was great over last winter. Has cleaned up well too. The orange detailing isn't everyone's cup of tea and I guess it might bother you to have On One emblazoned on your jacket, but aside from that it's fine.

Just noticed the price is up at £79.99 on Planet X at the moment though.

I have some MT500 kit, its very good for the price but I am not sure I'd say it was the best. Arcteryx (not bike specific but outstanding), Haglofs or Gore are better but more money.

I have narrowed it down to the following:

Marmot Speed Light gore active.

Marmot exum ridge gore active.

Marmot red star nano pro fabric.

Need to find out the difference between the fabric breathability but I think the gore active is better.
The Exum ridge looks with minimal features but the other two have Napoleon pockets and extra pit zips which I would like.

Have had Rab, Vulpine, North Face, Gore, Showers Pass, Jack Wolfskin all over the years. None have been as good as the MT500. Of course I am comparing a modern jacket and construction and materials to jackets much older. I use it for everything now including boarding. Obviously it has no snow/powder skirt but is excellent in all other requirements. I believe it is a different material and construction to the other jackets Endura offer.

Out of interest, those others with the MT500, how do you wash it to keep it working properly ?

Marmot exum ridge gore active.

Bought one of these recently and so far I'm very impressed. Notably more breathable then my old paclite.

Sportspursuit have them atm.

Endura, cant fault any of mine (convert softshell, singletrack)
Also use mostly Endura for everything else actually (MT500 spray baggies, 2x pairs of gloves, 3/4 lengths...)

The breathability of Gore Tex Active is 23,000 per 24 hours and a water proof rating of 28,000mm.

Endure EcoShell 60 on the MT500 2 jacket 60,000 per 24 hours and a water proof rating of 18,000mm.

Is there much in that breathability rating for any folks who have tried both fabrics for they are still sweaty when output is high?

Marmot Exum Ridge with Gore Active is £130 (from 260 so 50% off RRP) on Sports Pursuit website (no pit zips through) but could just unzip.

Endura MT500 2 is £190.
