Looking to get back out on the local lanes after a long lay off.
I do like a gadget and was wondering what the best GPS with decent mapping?
Not really looking for offroad, just the country lanes and back roads.
Any suggestions?
Wahoo ELEMNT.
Edge Explore still top of my list. Beats Wahoo IME for quality of navigation, map information and on-the-fly route generation, and it’s a decent price.
Thanks gents.
After a bit of google I found this Edge 820 for £150
Seemed a very good deal so I went for it.
I guess there must be a new model coming out?
Already has come out: the 830.
For ~£150 in promos, I'd have looked at the Lezyne Mega XL, huge battery time and offline mapping along with lots of other features.

I found the mega XL only lasted 18hrs if you used it for navigation and the user interface/map management was ghastly.
Garmin Edge Explore is £185 and has a really nice colour touchscreen. Haven't used it properly yet but first impressions are positive.
In case you don't already know, you can download openstreetmaps for your garmin from this site: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
The maps are great - the only downside is that my garmin (520) only has 90mb free for maps and isn't expandble. The 820 has a bigger memory so you should be able to fit full UK maps on it.
