Loved the big monocoque mountain cycle growing up. They were probably less bike than my trance but they looked like absolute brutes at the time. Equipped with some zzyzx forks obviously.[img] [/img]

The new carbon YT is the one for me, looks like it could genuinely move things on in terms of low weight, agility etc while retaining the hard hitting qualities of a DH bike.

The Honda is just brilliant, its like HRC just decided to remove the engine from one of their little 125cc GP bikes and fit pedals...there you go, finished!....we need more madness like that in DH.

That YT is ghastly..Looks like Lamborghini tried to make a bike and got it wrong.

Just scanning this topic can I just say downhill seems to have been responsible for some of the most gopping machines ever created. I guess it's all part of but on the bleeding edge of gnar.

One of the best looking in the flesh

[img] [/img]

Just looks very "right"

I'm not thanking anybody for including huck bikes and other frankentrocities - but some of the early machines do have their charm

Some comedy classics on this thread. But that Nicolai proves that simple always looks good.

+1 on the turner - lusted over one in Orange for ages, almost pulled the trigger when CRC had a load of discounted ones, but hesitated based on some iffy reviews and odd sizing and never went through with it.

you know, I looked at that and thought "hmmm that looks nice, not sure why..."
Use straight tubes!
Doh! That'll be it.

Having said that, I used to quite like the look of the sintesi bazooka, which only had a straight top tube (which was also horizontal).

Old DH bike HTs look very steep huh?

if i lived anywhere near a proper hill i`d have a zerode.

well acutally i'd have some battered, ropey old nearly cracked frame, much like i do now, btu i'd WANT a zerode. things of wonders they are. They had one in the bike shop downt eh road and it was definatly lustworthy.

website needs some attention, the pictures change too quick, before they've finished loading in some cases.
