Ok now the midge and other flying bugs season is upon us, those evening rides are becomming a pain unless protected....

I have Jungle Formula at the moment, seems to do the job but soooooooo expensive!!

Anything good that is value for money (cheap) ??

Avon skin so soft moisturiser is supposed to be the holy grail of insect repellant.

DEET!
LifeSystems do a few at different strengths 20%, 50% and 100% I think

avon skin so soft just creates a sticky impenetrable barrier. you have to reapply it every 5 minutes to work and you smell like an old granny.

DEET, and lots of it. just don't get it on anything plastic!

I favor the let 'em bite and take antihistamines to counter the itching

I'm currently trying out the Avon SSS with bug-guard and SPF. Seems to be working so far, but I'll be giving it a proper shake-down in Lochaber next week.

Jungle Formula is excellent as is the skin so soft, can't say I needed to apply more than once in an evening.

Jungle Formula family lotion. You don't waste loads 'cause it's not a spray and it doesn't eat plastic like higher DEET content products do.
