Daughter is struggling with her current helmet so any out there which would help i.e. a gap for the pony tail.
Specialized do (or did) one that was specifically 'pony tail compatible'.
My wife got one from Edinburgh bike co-op, said it was comfy.
Quick Google suggests it's called a hairport, not sure if they're still available, you might find one on clearance somewhere if not.
Hair band below the back of the helmet
My wife has a Specialized one with the hair port but doesn't use it; she goes for the Greta Thunburg/Pippi Longstocking look instead.
Not something I’ve ever even considered before! Is her helmet REALLY low at the back or something? Pretty much any other helmet would be ok in that case! Or as Rob says just move it down if it’s too high?
Wife has always used Giro and feeds her hair through the rocloc.
Rich, my daughter had the same problem, I bought her a Specialized Aspire. It’s essentially an Echelon II with a ‘hairport’. Works well.

My Mrs also has a Spesh one, not sure which, but rates it for wearing with hair in a Pony.
We have this issue with our daughter as well. Shes got a bell sidetrack, which is a right pain with a high pony.
We generally get round the situation with me getting all stressed and huffing that she needs to remember to wear her hair down or in a low pony before cycling.....
French plaits or low pony tail do work though.
French plaits if we plan in advance, or emergency low pony if the ride is impromptu.
Specialized sub 6 pro..... sorry just magically got transported back to 92 😉
Mrsbeanz went from a pony tail to pigtails. Much better apparently 🙃
6 year old daughter rides with a low ponytail, or pigtail type things
It is much more confortable if you can pull the pony tail through the helmet - things stay in place better, it keeps the tail away a bit and less sweaty etc. The best helmet I have found for this is the CatLike I have at the moment. I did try pigtails and that was fine, but a bit undignified when you reach a certain age and don't suit everybody !

I wear Specialized because it works for my hair. If I'm wearing a cap etc under the helmet I still need to go with a low pony (below the helmet) as the cap covers where the hairport is but if I can I'd always rather put the hair through rather than under - much more comfortable. When I used to do triathlon I used pigtails because it was less faff in transition to just put the helmet on rather than pulling it through, but I was younger then and it's starting to look a bit silly as I get older...
