Bike will be a Scott Genius 700 (150mm rear travel). 2015 Fox 2015 is a no go due to price and lack of QR option.
Has to be a Pike.
Alternatives from Marz, Bos & X-fusion are also very good.
Get something with bigger stantions- 34mm+ and I don't think you can go wrong.
Got a CCDB air CS on my Rocket with a X-Fusion Slant up front. Bike rides great and doesn't feel mis-matched. The CCDB does outshine the fork in outright performance though. I reckon for an adjustment and true performance match then either a BOS or Pike would be the forks to go for.
Pike matches up fairly well, not quite as awesome as the CCDB but certainly good enough.
Mine is matched with a 150mm Pike on my Five Alpine, seem well matched but not happy with the way I have the inline riding at the moment (which I expected, its only one ride old).
Bos are out on their poor back-up - I'm not risking it!
What about a 2014 Fox 34 FLOAT or TALAS? My original post should have said Fox 36 is out!
As for the Pike, how does the Solo air compare to the Dual Air/DPA version?
I bought the 2012 Fox FIT RLC in the sale (new, this year) for my Scott Spark and they match up to my CCDB a treat. Completely different bike now the twin loc has gone.
As for the Pike, how does the Solo air compare to the Dual Air/DPA version?
I don't believe the DPA version allows you to add bottomless tokens to change the spring curve and I've found them invaluable to get the Pike to match my CCDBA. However my Spitfire's suspension behaviour is about as different to the Genii's as it's possible to be!
My 2015 Spesh Enduro came with a DBinline (155mm rear travel and a Pike RC 29 (160 mm). Combo works very well out of the box although I reckon the DBinline is the better end at the moment - still messing with the Pike rebound settings and probably not broken in yet in fairness. The DBinline is amazing with the FSR suspension.
