What is your favourite dropper post? I had a OneUp for ages on the old bike but new one came with the cheaper Bontrager one which is pretty average.
OneUp still one of the better ones?
150mm drop 31.6mm
My Bikeyokes are definitely the best I've used- fantastic quality, good customer service, good lever, and 100% reliable.
But, if I was buying today it'd definitely be a Oneup, because of the length options and the value compared to Bikeyoke, they're good enough, at good enough money.
Probably for shorter drop there's other good options though? Oneup and Bikeyoke really shine with longer travel
Brand x are cheap and seem to work, but buy a bontrager lever for nicer feel.
Fox transfer feel nicer made but hard to justify the cost
Orbea OC would be good if you could buy aftermarket - they sell the whole thing as spare parts and service looks super easy.
OneUp if you want max drop and are limited on space
150mm is all I need, plus kink in frame makes the longer OneUp too long if sizing up to the larger one.
Will have a look at the bikeyoke one
What about the PNW one?
Brand X if you only need 150mm (and if it'll fit in your frame).
Or I have a 170mm OneUp in 31.6mm to sell, message me if interested.
Money no object then I can't fault my AXS reverb, been faultless for 2 years now.
I have two PNWs. They seem effective. I haven’t thought about the older one in about 18 months which I consider to be everything I want in a dropper post!
OneUp, just does the job well, i also have the bikeyoke revive, but it creaks and has a good bit of play in it rotationally, also needs to be rebuilt every few months as it seems to suck in all the crap past the seal.
Lever wise, avoid the OneUp, just not a nice functioning lever, i have a bikeyoke triggy, works well, but the smoothest lever is one of the cheap ZTTO ones
AXS is out of price range!
Mate said he picked up a PNW Loam today so going to check that out and go from there. Lifetime warranty apparently
However I do like the fact that with the OneUp you can fit slightly bigger rods to deal with any play. I did that on last one and there was zero play.
Think it’s either the PNW Loam or OneUp.
Going to try the Loam and loam lever this week.
BikeYoke is brilliant have two, they're flawless but expensive.
OneUp not as good, but ditch the crappy lever for a decent (BikeYoke) one, and they're most of the way there.
Orbea OC would be good if you could buy aftermarket – they sell the whole thing as spare parts and service looks super easy.
while waiting for warrenty on my rallon frame the shop has lent me a rallon with one of those on, while it works fine it just feels terrible to use compared to my bikeyoke revive.
