I'm just in the process of buying some new CX Wheels, and forgot I need new rotors too 😆
Whats good and cheap?
I looked at Superstars which would come out about £6 each, but some of the reviews were a bit worrying...
ta
I have two 160's at home, one is Shimano and is brand new, the other is Quaxar ( http://www.xcracer.com/shop/viewproduct.php?productid=299) and it's had 6 maybe 8 months use. Both are 6 bolt and I can post the pair in the UK for £15.00 if like.
Paypal's cool too, just use adam.buckland (at) hotmail (dot) co.uk
Hope it helps
Bought loads of the £4 from UK ebay Avid HS1s. Light and a gnat's thinner than Shimanos so no rub.
Rotors go for buttons on ebay.
Ta - Just doing a bit of looking. Found some posts from 4 ish years ago that mention Alligator Aries which are silly light and not as much as Shimano etc.
Adam thanks but I am wanting new.
Avid hs1 from eBay def worth it for cheap and pretty good.
No probs.
Go for the HS-1's - so cheap
Went for Clarkes off CRC last time, they were on offer and less than a tenner the pair.
I've been more than happy with these:

Bizarrely braking feels better than the single piece XT rotors they replaced (if you really want cheap there are plain Deore models too).
Bit OT, sorry, but why are 180mm HS1s so much more expensive than 160mm? (Or more accurately, why are 180mms a normal price and 160mms silly cheap?)
As long as they arent the £8 ones from superstar as my last set have gone rusty , very rusty !
I've bought some cheap as chips Avids off Ebay... lets hope they are genuine 🙂
Thanks for all the advice
I am using some ebay HS1 replicas. Not had any issues 'yet'. Shape, weight and finish seem comparable but the cheap ones have a blurry laser etch of the company name. They have had a few heavy stops from almost 50MPH and not exploded yet.
