2012 cannondale scalpel 1 - absolutely the best bike I've ridden and I've not wanted to replace it with 650 or 29 er.
The bikes I have now thorn xtc (had it 10 years) and rocky mountain element(7 years),both perfect for what I want to do.Though if I wasn't skint I wouldn't need much encouragement to update the mountain bike 🙂

The two that I never managed to try were a Kona Cindercone & a few years later the first Specialized Enduro.
The current bike that keeps catching my attention is the Transition Scout.

1993 Kona Explosif, Tange Ultralight/Ultrastrong tubing, one itch I have to scratch, I had the picture from the catalogue stuck in the back of my English folder at school! Unfortunately being a short arse means I'd need a 16/17"frame and there seems to be 20 19"s to every 17"! On the rare occasions I've seen them in good condition, I'm skint! Maybe one day!
Whyte 19 steel. Gutted with hindsight I sold it. Just lovely to ride.

1995 Kona explosif. I went for a pine mountain but after my dad got a Kilauea I realised I'd made a mistake.
Ritchey Commando, by mutual agreement both me and the seller scuppered the deal, kinda wish I'd seen it through as I don't think I'll ever get a chance to buy another.
Torker 280 with Landing Gear forks, some bastard nicked it.
Never owned a Cannondale Prophet.
Had a go on one several times, but for some reason never bought one. Wish I had though, they were quite ahead of their time in the "long, low, slack" department for a trail bike.
