For me raleigh bomber or pace rc100.
The bomber was so cool, and looks flipping dreadful now, wanted one so much back then.
Prob Amp Research for me.
Although I did also lust after the Proflex 853, mountain goat whiskey town racer, fact chance & Marim team ti.

Best bike you never had.

the next one..............
How can a bike you've never had be the best?
I still want a '94(?) Stumpjumper in dark green. Only bike itch I haven't scratched.
Muddy fox interactive. Would buy one now.
I wish I hadn't got rid of my PRST-4.
I think a really light xc build Orange 5 would do me fine.
2012 cannondale scalpel 1 - absolutely the best bike I've ridden and I've not wanted to replace it with 650 or 29 er.
The bikes I have now thorn xtc (had it 10 years) and rocky mountain element(7 years),both perfect for what I want to do.Though if I wasn't skint I wouldn't need much encouragement to update the mountain bike 🙂
Definitely a Pace Rc.
The two that I never managed to try were a Kona Cindercone & a few years later the first Specialized Enduro.
The current bike that keeps catching my attention is the Transition Scout.
I can see N+1 occurring sometime soon...
1993 Kona Explosif, Tange Ultralight/Ultrastrong tubing, one itch I have to scratch, I had the picture from the catalogue stuck in the back of my English folder at school! Unfortunately being a short arse means I'd need a 16/17"frame and there seems to be 20 19"s to every 17"! On the rare occasions I've seen them in good condition, I'm skint! Maybe one day!
Whyte 19 steel. Gutted with hindsight I sold it. Just lovely to ride.
Lots
Turner burner (yellow)
5 spot
SC blur
SC vp free (stupid high bb but would still love one)
Iron horse Sunday
SC bullit (polished with 5th element shock)
Gee Athertons Giant DH team bike, but we couldn't agree on a price. He wanted £1800 to buy an mx bike, I only had £1500.
GT Zaskar LE, not sure what year. Not even really sure what millennium.
1995 Kona explosif. I went for a pine mountain but after my dad got a Kilauea I realised I'd made a mistake.
Ritchey Commando, by mutual agreement both me and the seller scuppered the deal, kinda wish I'd seen it through as I don't think I'll ever get a chance to buy another.
Torker 280 with Landing Gear forks, some bastard nicked it.
Never owned a Cannondale Prophet.
Had a go on one several times, but for some reason never bought one. Wish I had though, they were quite ahead of their time in the "long, low, slack" department for a trail bike.
Klein Mantra, 650B Orange 5 and a 650B Spark.
Cannondale Carbon Habit.
Funk La Ruta.
EDIT: And a Seven Sola
Lusted after a Xizang, probably about 92.
Kona Cindercone 1995 with Rock Shox Quadra 21R and an Orange P7 from the same year. Rocky Mountain Tibolt and and also a Proflex 956.
Spooky Metalhead.
Pashley 26mhz.
