So your're tall and skinny but not freaskishly so.

To be worn with knee pads?
What's your preference on pockets?
Waterproof arse?
Heavyweight fabric that will last years?

I’ve just bought a second pair of Endura Singletracks - very light and comfortable to wear on long rides over 3/4 bib tights. Sizing is a bit weird though - first pair were M and getting a little neat thanks to some weight gain. Bought a pair in L and they feel much the same fit as the old M...

The other pair I have that are contenders for ‘D-J’s favourite shorts’ are by FOX - can’t remember the precise model name, but they’ve very simple, lightweight trail shorts with no pockets, zips and a simple Velcro/pop stud closure at the waist; amazingly comfy, especially on hot days.

I was given a pair of sweet protection shorts recently. I've had Troy Lee, Royal, Endura, 661 and Madison in the past, and the Sweet Protection ones are by far the best.

i tried some IXS flow shorts as a total gamble and love them. despite getting hammered, they are still holding up despite several tumbles and loads of bush whacking.

tough and with a bit of stretch. i always wear my shorts over bibs and these are great. definitely worth a look.

I have a pair of Gore C5 Trail shorts, the best shorts I have ridden in for years! I also have - Endura Hummvee, Endura Single-track, Endura MT500 waterproof, Fox Attack WR. All nice and great shorts, but the gore stand out from the rest.

Yes I'm aware I have a bit of a issue.....

Troy lee skylines from few years ago are still my go-to short. Just fit so Well and stretch in all the right places. Lightweight and cool, but still look like new bar a couple of loose threads in the crotch after 3 seasons use and several crashes! Only negative and only reason I'd choose my Royal storms is they are in no wash waterproof, they'd be perfect if they had even a waterproof arse. As it is, they're still my top pick. Saying that, I'm not sure the current ones are as good and have crept up in price. Last pair I bought were 35 quid in crc sale 👍

For slim tall body type the Norrona Fjora shorts work extremely well. I’m slightly fat so they are just very good, pants size I’m 34-36” and size L Norronas fit well with their waist adjustment. Son has 28” jeans and still just fits in size XS Fjoras (previous model).
Prices have been on the rise but they are occasionally on sale at Bike24. Norrona outlet rarely has them on sale.
